It’s All Over For Beckham

You need a lot of guts and super confidence to axe an icon like Beckham from the national squad. The new coach Steve McClaren stated the English captain didn’t fit into his scheme of things, and ruled out picking him again. Imagine Sachin Tendulkar being dropped from the squad unceremoniously. The whole nation might come to a grinding halt.

Politicisation Of Cricket

Looks like Saurav Ganguly has been rewarded for ditching his long-time mentor, Jagmohan Dalmiya, who is anathema for cricket bosses running BCCI. When the former captain was performing well, he was made to sit out, and when his performance is at its lowest ebb, he figures in the list of 30 probables for the Champions trophy.
Will Saurav make it to the final team is a million dollar question. If at all he makes it to the team, what message are the selectors going to send Dravid and Co. It is a know fact that the present skipper and coach are not in the best of terms with Saurav. Given all these facts, the ‘Bengal Tiger’ might be left red-faced when the final squad is announced. Strange of the ways of cricket!
