Gulf Arabs risk heart attacks in Olympics – expertDUBAI: A top cardiologist has warned television viewers in the United Arab Emirates to try to stay calm during the Olympics because they were particularly vulnerable to suffering heart attacks while watching sports.
Klaus Kallmayer, head of cardiology at City Hospital in Dubai and the German Heart Centre in Bremen, said cardiovascular incidents increase during sporting events as spectators get caught up in the moment. (more)

Not to be left behind, Reuters headline reads “Gulf Arabs”, whereas the write-up aims at only UAE folks. Mindless exaggeration!
The 16-year-old Buthaina Yaqoubi will represent Oman at the Bejing Olympics and she will compete in 100m sprint and long jump. Team Oman also includes Mohammed al Habsi (100m breaststroke), Abdullah al Souli (100m, 200m sprint) and Dad al Balushi (50m rifle men’s prone competition with 60 rounds).
Even Dubai has joined the bandwagon. A report says:

But Bollywood films are popular among the Arab-speaking people as well. This makes Dubai is a perfect overseas venue for Bollywood premieres,” says Aziz Mirza, director of Kismat Konnection, which premiered in Dubai three days ago.
