Zubair Corporation has taken the lead in opening up its cash bags with a RO 250K offer. In the next few days, local companies will try to out do each other by raising the bar – money offers will flow, quite literally. I wonder why big businesses don’t open their purse to invest in football infrastructure at the grass root level. I am sure there are 100s of raw talent hidden across the Sultanate, and due to teething troubles at the ground level, a majority of them vanish into thin air. Everyone wants mileage at the highest level, but no one wants to do the dirty work of polishing the ‘gems’.

I think it is a sad state of affairs for the Zubair Group....... They have laid off close to 80 expats from their Automotive division due to recession, however at the same time, a cash prize of 250k if Oman wins the Gulf Cup.
Talk about double standards..... and of try to be the Employer of Choice in the Sultanate.
It might be an attempt to convey, "Hey, nothing wrong with us…all is well".
The Zubair Corporation is one of the most sucessfull businesses in Oman and has gone mailstones in Omanization and meeting the local aspirations in the sultanate. Its recent sucess in initiating the Graduate Omani Leadership Program shows how commited this organization is in developing the talents in the country. Thats why 250K rials from Al Zubair is not a supprise at all.
