Kick-ass movie, jack-ass procedure

I can’t help but crib about my experience with Al Shatti Plaza which has been recently re-branded as City Cinema, Al Shatti. Knowing very well that we wouldn’t get seats at the last minute for ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ yesterday, I stepped out after lunch at 2.30pm and purchased tickets for the evening show. The guy at the ticket counter said “free seating” and asked us to come at 5pm sharp.

When we arrived, there was a long queue waiting to get in which meant most of the tickets for the show were sold. Finally, we had to settle for a seating somewhere in the middle. My only concern is why keep ‘free seating’ on a weekend that too for a movie which is being well received by audience. During the show, I glanced around to find around 8-10 seats unoccupied in the whole theatre. They could have kept the seating numbers on to make life easy for people who took the pain to come early and book. If they can charge RO3 per ticket, they better get their plans right, all the time. They need to justify the pricing too. At RO2 per ticket, Ruwi Cinema was a lot better organized and consistent. How I miss Ruwi Cinema…

I hate indian movies but this is.....wow, I guess it takes an American production to get the movie to be real.......... don't attack me, it won't change my mind.

I hope Indians can learn that they have stories but they need to get away from the dancing and fighting and with a twist they can any awards they want and bring bollywood the respct of world for their movies.

Yes I know there are a handelful of movies without dancing but there should thosands more.

The movie is very good. When are you back?

Even I don't like the song-dance-fight formula. The trend is changing thick and fast, and I hope in the next five years, Bollywood movies will pursue a different path.

oman
That's right.

there heaps of 'American' movies which defy all possible attempts at logic..so the concept of 'Real' in all american movies as coloman points out, not happening..

probably a throwback from colonial days that what ever the west does is be the best irrespective of what it really is..

have u ever thought that maybe there is a market for the formula used in the Indian movies..hence the song and dance stuff..so you or me not liking it is one's own perogative and choice..if one does not like something, just dont watch it..

The movie is intresting no doubt...

ColOman and kishore

For majority of Indian Movies the target audiences are mostly B and C grade centers. A grade are so called intellectuals...

The daily wage earners who see these , want to forget his hardship and enjoy those three hours of dance and fight,...

Anyway english movie is always there for so called A grade centers.
