On a weekend, we decided to check out Curry House, the new restaurant located in CBD, behind Bank Muscat. The décor was bright and nice.

We ordered Chicken shorba, Chicken tikka, Aloo chat and Chicken dum biryani.

Chicken shorba was perfectly made, with the right blend of spices and consistency. Chicken tikka was succulent, juicy and melt-in-mouth variety. It was grilled to perfection.

Aloo chat was a disappointment. It was bitter – probably something to do with the lemon used for garnishing. When pointed out, the waiter was eager to replace the order, but we were not keen.

Chicken biryani was well made and full of flavours. The portion of biryani was huge; can easily feed three people. Finally, we ordered Gulab jamun to wind up the meal. It was good too.

The service was good and I was particularly happy with the attitude of the waiter. Normally the waiters get defensive when a not-so-good feedback is given about a particular dish (in this case Aloo chat). Let his tribe increase.

Including mineral water, our bill came up to OMR 11.700. Definitely I will go back to the restaurant soon to try out other North Indian specialties.
